Route(s)
Although the Seattle Super Saunter has no one set route and folks are encouraged to get from the 148th st/Shoreline S. light rail station to Garden of Gethsemane church however you like, there will be a guided route that folks are willing to join at 8am on May 16, 2026 or on their own time. I have also included the guided route from last year as well. Feel free to follow these routes or take inspiration from them.
The New Seattle Super Saunter Route
Distance: 24 miles
Description: Although the original route from last year was a great route, I felt like a suggested route needed to show off more sites that are associated with Seattle. Obviously not everything that makes Seattle special can be included, but there are for sure some greatest hits. The route has a nice mixture of neighborhoods, parks, urban areas, iconic Seattle landmarks, and trails. This route also runs closer to light rail providing easy access for transit throughout the day. 107 bus line picks up at the end and runs to the Rainier Valley Light Rail station for anyone hoping to return to the start or elsewhere. Public bathrooms and areas to grab food are abundant. Elevation gain is not much of a factor until going from the waterfront up to Beacon Hill.
Highlights: Green Lake, Gas Works Park, MOHAI, Seattle Center, Pike Place, the Waterfront, Pioneer Square, the CID, Jefferson Park, the Chief Sealth Trail
Things to consider on the day of the Seattle Super Saunter:
Begin at 148th St/Shoreline S. Light Railstation at around 8am(ish) and proceed from there. Great opportunity to use light rail to get to the start, there is also a 5oo stall free parking garage at the start, so no need to worry about parking.
If you want to start earlier, later, or along the route that is no problem. No need to start at 8am. Folks will be able to join us at stops later on in the day around these times. There are rough estimates of times for these breaks below, if you are at a stop at the time listed here and no none is there, chances are the group is late. You can either wait or walk backtrack the route. Alternatively, you can follow our location through a google maps link that will be shared the day of the saunter through our Heylo group.
These breaks are also good opportunities to use the bathroom, get a snack, or say hi to someone new. Most will also be near a light rail station, so they should be easy to accesses via transit.

Distance: 22 miles
Description: Feeling nostalgic for last year? This route was designed for the 1st Seattle Super Saunter. It is a shorter version of the route from this year with no need to cross I-5. A nice mixture of neighborhoods and parks. Avoids a lot of major population centers in the city. Public bathrooms exist about every 3 or so miles on this route.
Highlights: Maple Leaf Reservoir Park, U-District (market on Saturdays), Montlake Cut, Arboretum, Mt. Baker Ridge Viewpoint, Lake Washington Blvd, Seward Park
